Afrobeats is gaining recognition, receiving nominations, and dominating all around the globe. Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy was nominated for seven categories at the BET Hip-Hop Awards but lost all seven nominations. The BET Hip-Hop Award show took place on October 3 but was broadcast on October 10, 2023. The African Giant received nominations for Hip-Hop Artist of the year, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Collaboration (Sittin’ on Top of the World ft 21 Savage), Best Live Performer, Song of the year, Hustler of the year and Lyricist of the year.
