FG to Launch $617 Million Investment in Digital, Creative Enterprises Programme

The Nigerian government is set to launch a $617 million program in November 2023 to create jobs in the technology and creative sectors. The program, called the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) programme, is aimed at providing young Nigerians with the resources and support they need to start and grow their own businesses.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has instructed the i-DICE Steering Committee to ensure that the program is launched by the end of November and has emphasized the importance of the initiative to the government’s digital jobs drive. He has also urged all partners in the program to ensure that the funds are used judiciously, noting that the i-DICE programme could be a game-changer for Nigeria.

The i-DICE programme will cover a wide range of sectors, including digital technology, creative industries, and entertainment. It will provide grants, loans, and equity to startups, and will also provide training and support to young entrepreneurs.

The program is expected to create 1.2 million jobs and will be particularly beneficial to women, who will account for 50% of participants.
