Bassey was the only Super Eagles player at Fulham, but he now has the company of a Nigerian brother
Super Eagles defender Calvin showed his elation by hugging Alex Iwobi when the Nigerian duo trained together at Fulham for the first time, Soccernet reports.
Iwobi joined Fulham from Everton on transfer deadline day in a deal worth €25.7million. Following his transfer, he became the second Super Eagles player at Craven Cottage alongside Calvin Bassey.
Bassey is known to be an expressive character around his teammates, especially from the national team.
Iwobi could not train with Bassey at Fulham before the international break because he was nursing a hamstring injury. That also ruled out the former Everton man from the Super Eagles squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
Nonetheless, Iwobi returned to training earlier in the week, and both players met in training for the first time. Bassey was clearly happy to see him as he jumped and hugged him immediately after they met.

Fulham play Luton Town in the Premier League on Saturday, and Iwobi and Bassey could be on the pitch at the same time.
Bassey is yet to convince Marco Silva to give him a first team shirt, while Iwobi is yet to fully integrate into the team. Still, they could get minutes against a Luton side that have lost all their Premier League games this season.
