Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has opted to leave out Ahmed Musa and some other high-profile names for the final-day encounter against Sao Tome and Principe in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification series.
Musa, who remains Nigeria’s most-capped player, is missing on the 23-man list from which the likes of Zaidu Sanusi and Alex Iwobi (injured), among others, were also omitted.
Peseiro, who has just extended his contract with the NFF, invited on-field captain William Ekong, defender Tyronne Ebuehi and Semi Ajayi, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka, and forwards Moses Simon, Victor Osimhen and Taiwo Awoniyi, among others.
