Transfers: Crystal Palace nearing deal with Leicester for acquisition of Super Eagles talent

Kelechi Iheanacho has been heavily linked with a move from the King Power Stadium after negotiations to extend his contract with the club have been stalling for months now

Crystal Palace are close to reaching an agreement with Leicester City over the signing of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of the transfer deadline, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Eagles are looking to add firepower to their attacking ranks as scoring goals has been a problem for the London club.

Roy Hodgson’s side have scored two goals in their opening three Premier League games, scoring more than a goal in a match this season just once in their 4-2 comeback victory over Plymouth in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Palace have reportedly identified Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho as the solution to their scoring issue and are ready to pay £10-15m with add-ons. But Leicester’s demand of £18m is reported to be stalling the negotiations.

However, in the latest update, an agreement between the two clubs is getting closer, with all parties involved working hard to get the deal done before Friday’s transfer deadline, as reported by Topskills Sports Uk.

It has been suggested that the 26-year-old would sign a 5-year deal with the Premier League side.

The Super Eagles striker has played in all the Foxes’ first few matches played so far this season, scoring a goal and two assists to help them to the top of the Championship table with four wins from four games.
