Fred Confirms Bayindir’s Move To Manchester United

Former Manchester United midfielder Fred has confirmed that his Fenerbahce teammate, Altay Bayindir, was on his way to Old Trafford, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Turkish goalkeeper emerged as a backup option to Andre Onana after the Red Devils were rebuffed by Japanese youngster Zion Suzuki.

Current number two Dean Henderson is expected to complete a move to Crystal Palace before the window is shut in the next few days.

The 25-year-old had initially travelled to Athens, Greece for a so-called pre-medical to ascertain whether or not a back issue could pose problems in the future, while the last couple of days have been spent in Manchester for proper examinations.

Turkish media and Fabrizio Romano announced that the deal was all but done, and now Bayindir’s Fenerbahce colleague Fred has confirmed the move.

Fred himself only recently signed for the Turkish giants in a €9.7 million move from Man Utd after failing to live up to his €59m price tag at Old Trafford. Bayindir’s transfer is expected to be wrapped up shortly, barring any late hiccup.
