One of Manchester United’s fan page account, Utd Plug (@UtdPlug) confirmed on his official Twitter account that the match was played behind closed doors on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
The Red Devils lost the game which was overseen by the team’s manager, Erik Ten Hag having fielded several of United’s fringe players. The team included Jonny Evans, Hannibal Mejbri, Álvaro Fernández, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial, Donny Van de Beek and Facundo Pellistri reportedly all started the game.
