Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has accused former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, of defaming the character of his client and constituting contempt of court.
Ejimakor who was reacting to Asari-Dokubo’s comments at a press parley in Abuja on Friday where he called on President Bola Tinubu not to release Kanu while calling the Biafran agitator a criminal and murderer, Ejimakor said Asari-Dokubo’s statement was “defamatory of the fine character, reputation and international standing of Nnamdi Kanu.”
In a statement on Monday, the Special Counsel said the ex militant was also in clear contempt of the October 2022 judgment of the Federal High Court, Umuahia which had determined Kanu’s extraordinary rendition and detention to be unconstitutional and a brazen violation of his fundamental rights.
