The three-time Africa Champions defeated Sierra Leone 3-2 in Monrovia on Sunday, June 18th, 2023. The Super Eagles started the game like a house on fire when Napoil’s forward player, Victor Osimhen scored two quick goals in the first thirty minutes of the match.
Mustapha Bindu pulled a goal back for the host nation, which saw the first half ended 2-1 in Nigeria. Sierra Leone came into the second half the way they ended the first and the pressure paid off when Augustus Karbo scored the equalising goal in the 84th minute.
