- Dokubo said the release of Kanu would only send a wrong signal to the Nigerian people that the government is toothless against treasonable crime
- He stated that releasing the IPOB leader will not reduce or ease the ongoing tension in the southeast
FCT, Aso Rock – Mujahid Asari Dokubo, a Niger Delta leader and former agitator, said releasing the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, would not ease the tensions in the South-East.
Dokubo told State House, correspondents after he met President Bola Tinubu behind closed doors at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, on Friday that releasing the IPOB leader would escalate tension.
