Unanswered questions about fuel subsidy payments

On May 29, during his inaugural speech President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of the fuel subsidy. He had said, “We commend the decision of the outgoing administration in phasing out the petrol subsidy regime which has increasingly favoured the rich more than the poor.

This led to the sudden hike in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit known as petrol with some filling stations selling as much as N700 per litre.
