Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry tweeted that the ceasefire is set to begin at 6:00am, local time. The tweet said, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America announce that representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) agreed to a 24-hour countrywide ceasefire beginning on June 10 at 6:00 a.m. Khartoum time.”
A document shared along with the tweet read, “The facilitators share the frustration of the Sudanese people about the uneven implementation of previous ceasefires. The facilitators proposed this latest initiative in an effort to break the cycle of violence.
