Pope Francis has expressed his heartfelt condolences and offered prayers for victims of the deadly train collision in India’s Odisha State, which killed around 300 people and injured some 900 others.
The Pope said in a Telegram that he was “deeply saddened to learn of the immense loss of life caused by the train crash in Odisha State,” and assured “all affected by this tragedy of his spiritual closeness.”
Pope Francis concluded his message by offering prayers for the injured and commended the efforts of the emergency service personnel.
