Post rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent, Tim Ballard (Jim Caviezel) learns that the boy’s sister is still captivity and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death. The film, based on true stories, shines a light on even the darkest of places.
Caviezel and the studio aim to attract 2 million viewers (an equivalent of the number of children trafficked annually the world over) to the opening weekend of the film scheduled to premiere on July 4; to ensure more people are aware of this crime against minors and humanity, hence catalyze a movement strong enough to eradicate child trafficking.
“An estimated 2 million children are trafficked every year. The Sound of Freedom is based on a true story about real life heroes saving kids from the dark world of child trafficking. We know this is hard breaking and it hurts to look at. But the first step in helping these children is hearing their story. not enough people know this problem exists, and even fewer people are able to do anything about it. our goal is to inspire 2 million people to attend the opening weekend, to represent the 2 million trafficked children around the world. To spread the word, Angel Studios set up the Pay It Forward Programme, where you can pay for someone else’s ticket who might not see it. if the ticket price is stopping you from attending, claim your free ticket at ANGEL.COM/FREEDOM.
