10th N’ Assembly: Women groups demand Senate Presidency, Deputy or Speaker

The agitation for top positions in the 10th National Assembly assumed a front burner on Saturday with a coalition of over 231 women organisations under the aegis of Manifesto demanding the inclusion of women either as Senate President, Deputy Senate President or Speaker of the House of Representatives.

According to them, since gender equity was critical to sustainable development, Nigeria cannot afford to be left behind.
