The notable political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) parade the incumbent governor, Senator Douye Diri and former minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva respectively.
Other political parties including the Labour Party (LP), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) also showed enough capacity by electing Comrade Udengs Eradiri, Binalayefa Joshua Osuluku Esq and Mr Waibode Subiri as their flag-bearers respectively.
