The party stated this in its processes filed at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), where it argued that Tinubu was duly qualified to contest the 2023 presidency after an investigation absolved him of any indictment.
The APC argued that the allegation of drug conviction against the former Lagos State governor has been decisively dealt with by the Federal Government through the Inspector General of Police as far back as 2003.
It, therefore, informed the PEPC sitting at the Court of Appeal, in Abuja, of its plan to apply for a subpoena to be issued against the IGP to enable him to adduce and tender in evidence the letter dated February 3, 2003, with reference number SR.3000 /IGP SEC/ABJ/VOL, 24/287, which triggered the clearance letter of the Legal attaché of the US Embassy in Nigeria, as well as the response to same dated February 4, 2003.
