In an interview with Channels Television, Soyinka had accused the Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, Baba Ahmed-Datti, of being fascist following an interview with Channels where Datti said the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, should not be sworn in.
Soyinka also accused Obidients of fascism over their alleged refusal to entertain corrective criticism as their “badge of honour”.
Speaking on Arise Television, author Chimamanda Adichie made it clear that she admires Wole Soyinka but she does not agree with his recent statement. She added that fascist is a very strong word that can be used for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but not for Datti and the Obidients.
