The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged the Igbo to participate in the upcoming national population census wherever they are located.
The call goes against the directive by IPOB for Igbos to return to the South East for the census, which they claimed would be used as a mock referendum for Biafra.
The Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, urged the ethnic group to participate effectively in the census and also requested the NPC to capture religion and ethnicity as part of the data during the enumeration.
Isiguzoro also urged all stakeholders in the security of Ala-Igbo to work together to end insecurity in the region.
