Labour Party threatens to occupy INEC offices nationwide

The Labour Party threatens to occupy INEC offices nationwide over frustration of election petition.

The party accused INEC of disobeying a court order to grant access to certified true copies of materials used in the presidential election.

The Presidential Campaign Council spokesman, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, said that the party will call on its members to march in a non-violent protest to INEC offices nationwide if the issue is not resolved.

Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidates, had refused to concede defeat in the February 25 presidential election, citing alleged rigging and voter intimidation among other reasons.
