According to the UN, Boko Haram killed over 30 fishermen and farmers in an ambush in Borno State. Several others were injured and some were missing.
The incident took place at the remote Mukdolo village in Ngala Local Government Area.
The village had been abandoned by civilians for over a decade due to previous terror activities in the area.
The victims had gone to the village to scavenge for scraps. Borno Police Commissioner Abdu Umar said that 26 people were killed in two separate attacks in the area the same day, including 25 in the fishermen/farmers attack and a policeman in another incident.
