The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that there is a move by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to destroy evidence of rigging of the 25 February presidential election.
The PDP spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday claimed that the motion filed by INEC requesting to reconfigure the BVAS machines used for the election was a move to wipe out relevant information required by the party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to prosecute its case at the Presidential Election Tribunal.
The Court of Appeal had on 3 March granted leave to Atiku and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, to inspect documents used by INEC for the conduct of the election.
