Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Nigeria’s Labour Party (LP) in the recently concluded elections, has assisted an unemployed graduate, Gimba Sophia Emmanuel, in her quest to start a baking and confectionery business
. Obi stated in a social media post on Saturday that Emmanuel would purchase a Nigerian-made oven, enhancing the value chain and putting into effect the production-to-consumption philosophy of the Labour Party.
The former Anambra State governor gave Emmanuel a cheque to buy the oven. On Thursday, Obi expressed sadness over the plight of young Nigerians, citing his interaction with Emmanuel, who worked as a tea maker and had been unemployed since graduating in 2018.
