Sunny Ade’s Son Won Amuwo-Odofin Reps Seat For Labour Party

George Folarin Adegeye, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), was on Tuesday, declared the winner of the Amuwo-Odofin federal constituency. Adegeye secured 46,702 votes to defeat Lanre Sanusi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 12,946 votes.

Oghene Ego, the incumbent legislator and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), came third after raking 5, 752 votes. Adegeye is the son of Sunny Ade, the ace music maestro and Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer. The politician’s mother is Risikat Ajoke Adegeye, the late wife of Sunny Ade, who was also a former lawmaker at the Lagos state house of assembly.

Risikat represented Amuwo Odofin constituency 1 at the Lagos assembly from 2011-2015. She was also a one-time chairmanship aspirant of APC in Amuwo Odofin LGA.
