Former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose described the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Gregory Obi, as “a serious cancer”.
In an interview with TVC News, Fayose equated Obi to be a cancer that was slowly eating the political structures of the APC and his beloved PDP.
“Obi a serious cancer, stage four. He has finished both liver, kidney, heart of PDP…he is now choping APC too. If there is any organ left it’s carcass”.
He believes the Labour Party Presidential candidate lost at the polls because he did not have the political spread needed to win an election in Nigeria.
He opined that whoever won the election must partner with the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in order for his administration to succeed. He believes Obi has become an institution in the Nigerian political structure and the precious gem of the youths.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Party (APC) on the 1st of March, 2023 was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the President of Nigeria
Tinubu secured a total of 8,794,726 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finished in second place with 6,984,520 votes. Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 6,101,533 votes.
Fayose was among Nigerians who congratulated the President elect on his victory. He tweeted, “I congratulate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his election as the next President of Nigeria. As the presidential election comes to an end, I urge other contestants, especially Atiku Abubakar to accept the outcome in the overall interest of our country. There will always be another day.”
