Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State was not surprised by the decision of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council to cancel its rally in the state.
He stated that none of the members had the political influence to attract a significant number of supporters for the rally.
Wike made this remark during the PDP rally in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, where he discussed other political and developmental matters. He also criticized those responsible for Atiku Abubakar’s campaign for lacking the political ability to rally support in Rivers.
Additionally, Wike and four other PDP governors from the southern region of Nigeria demanded the resignation of PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, for months as a prerequisite to support Atiku’s presidential candidacy in the February 25 election.
