The Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Mr Charles Udoh, told NAN in Uyo that as part of measures, the state had inaugurated 8.4km flood control project worth 34 million Dollars.
Officials of the state governments made this known in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) against the 2023 flood predictions by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
“The project was initiated in partnership with the World Bank through the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).
