Buhari In Senegal Advocates Subsidy For African Farmers, Urges Allocation Of 10% Of Budget To Agriculture

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday advocated subsidy for African farmers and called on the continent’s leaders to ensure allocation of 10 percent of their budgets to agriculture in line with the agreement of the Malabo Declaration of the African Heads of State and Government.

Buhari who said this in his goodwill message to the Feed Africa Summit of Heads of State and Government in Dakar, Senegal, called on his counterparts to embrace innovative policies that ensure the continent’s citizens eat what they produce as well as export the surplus.
