Asake concert in Brixton: Four people reported to be in critical condition after a crowd trouble

Lambeth Police say people were injured after a large crowd tried to get into the south London venue without tickets.

Crowd trouble forced the cancellation of a gig by Nigerian singer Asake at the O2 Academy in Brixton. Fans were said to have been locked outside in freezing temperatures, prompting some to try to force their way inside. Police say eight people were taken to hospital, with four still in a critical condition. The singer’s gig at the O2 Academy was eventually cancelled part-way through.

No arrests have been made and cordons remain in place for an urgent investigation into what happened.
