The Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation, (NBC) says about 30 broadcast stations in Kano are already placed on the black map for propelling hatred and violent comments by political actors.
Head of NBC, Kano zonal office, Adamu Salisu disclosed the development on Monday at a Media dialogue organized by the Kano Peace Committee ahead of the 2023 elections.
Salisu explained that the red flag become pertinent following the dangerous political campaign trend on local radio and television stations in recent times.
The NBC State Officer reminded us that broadcast media has the critical role of ensuring decent social engagement and is ethically responsible for not allowing selfish political interests to overwhelm the peace and tranquillity of society.
