How Senators, wives killed, buried gender bills – Olujimi

Startling revelation was made Thursday by sponsor of the Gender and Equal Opportunities Bill in the Senate, Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP Ekiti South ),  that the piece of legislation was first rejected by wives of Senators before their husbands later killed it with overwhelming rejection in plenary.

Olujimi explained that she mobilised other female senators, to engage wives of the male federal lawmakers in the Senate so that they could influence their spouses to support the Bill.
