Senator Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday said his lawyers are studying the Appeal court judgment sacking him as a senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Court of Appeal on Monday nullified his election as APC senatorial candidate for the Akwa Ibom North West District.
The court ruled that Akpabio, being a presidential aspirant of the APC could not participate in the valid primary of the party held on May 27 and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which produced Udom Ekpoudom as a candidate.
The court thereby ordered INEC to remove Akpabio’s name from the list of the senatorial candidate in Akwa Ibom state contesting for the 2023 general elections.
